Athi River burst its banks due to heavy rainfall, causing widespread flooding in areas like Kitengela and Machakos. The flooding has rendered roads impassable, such as the Namanga road, and has completely paralyzed traffic flow. Thousands of residents have been displaced, with over 2,000 people in Athi River Sub County forced to flee their homes after the river burst its banks on Wednesday morning.
