When optimizing for smooth and efficient assembly focus on a well-designed assembly line to reduce quality risks with mistake-proofing and jigs. Actions must be consistent for operators and reduce the chances that they have to perform unexpected tasks. Operators must be well-trained and the line must be constructed so no single operator gets overloaded.
