Even with good drilling skills, it's quite difficult to get the hole perfectly aligned. The result is inevitable wobble, which must be compensated for using various methods.

First, I tried to understand how this technique works and the theory.
So, let's put the tool to the material. I'll point out right away that a ratchet screwdriver is best for this, as it will prevent the drill bit from breaking if it jams.
Use a drill bit 2 mm smaller than the diameter of the hole you need. I'll need an M6 thread, which requires a 5 mm hole, so I'll use a 3 mm drill bit.
Since some misalignment is inevitable, the drill bit's cutting edge will select a diameter slightly larger than the drill bit's nominal diameter.
The hole's geometry may also be non-cylindrical, with some curvature. However, due to the continuous rotation of the shaft, any misalignment should be so minimal that it can be safely ignored. The hole should be practically coaxial with the shaft's axis of rotation.
Now it's time to test the theory in practice. This Romanian washing machine motor will replace the weak motor from a Soviet "Chaika" washing machine in my grinder. This technique is also useful for those who want to make a grinder or other machine themselves.
