Under the hood Lithium Battery The ONLY Correct way , many companies offer under the hood lithium but they fail to inform people that they need to be in a under the hood compartment made for lithium . no amount of insulation on a battery is sufficient to prevent heat soak , also insulation is horrible idea for a battery case because once its hot inside it will take a long time to cool , the average max temp for cells is around 130-150degrees , your engine typically on average is 190-210degrees running temp and under the hood temps can exceed that due to the exhaust heat radiating , also other devices under the hood can exceed engine running temps , so for car audio where we sit and idle there is no way you can just toss a lithium battery under the hood and it be safe from heat , unless its made for it like this car or you make a proper location for it , temp monitoring is also a great idea .
