This is the second part of my interview with Prof. Timothy H. Barrett, former Professor of Chinese Religions at SOAS. This time we talk about how he ended up at studying at Cambridge, starting off on a boarding school near Bath, where a significant portion of students came from missionary background. Studying ancient Greek, he thought he might be more interested in studying a non-European subject. A teacher advised him to go to Cambridge to study with David McMullen, which he did, ending up in St. John's College under the supervision of David McMullen.
