Any engineering drawing should depict everything: the drawing should be able to provide a thorough understanding of the object. It is preferable if the isometric drawing can show all details and measurements on one design. In an isometric graphic, a lot of information can be crammed into a little space. If the object had a hole on the rear side, for example, it would not be apparent with a single isometric drawing. An orthographic projection can be utilized to acquire a more full perspective of the object. More views (and sometimes sections) are necessary to portray an object in a unique fashion.
The views are viewed in orthographic projection in directions that are at right angles (i.e. 90 degrees) to each other.
