Hi! Please enjoy my video of me playing Azwel! Most of the footage is from Season 1 as I don't go to many tourneys offline and I don't play much online.

Footage ranges from around October 2018 to December 2019 and is compiled from many sources:
/ leveluplive   (ESA Oakland WNF first tourney)
/ bigpapachunk   (Our local organizer/player/streamer/community leader)
   / chaoticr.  . (BigPapaChunk's YT)

And of course this channel!

Song is Michelle Branch - Breathe

I do not own anything in the video. This is just for funzies.

Don't forget to like/dislike/sub lol.

I compiled a list of things I can remember about Azwel that have been shown in the video that may or may not be in the game anymore:

A+B cancels were insanely fast back at the beginning of season 1. The speed was nerfed so it couldn't be done as fast as to not elicit reactions like Sophie's 4B+K cancel or other cancels. But we all know the cancel was nerfed because people were annoyed of Azwel players spamming it nonstop at the end of matches lmao.

The fact that Azwel has three weapons and none of them are shown unless he is doing an action tends to throw off many players that are not familiar with the matchup. Each weapon stance gives different ranges (ie. in Axe, Azwel can hit you from mid range with 6B, or in stance he can just throw out A+B on reaction from far away if you press a button).

While in spear or almighty mode, a level 3 will grant a lethal hit if Azwel follows up with 4B. The opponent MUST GI back to avoid the lethal hit but they will still take damage as 4B is a guard break attack.

At the beginning of the release of SCVI, Azwel's 6B on block would push you FAR away and his 6BB would leave him at +4 AND leave the opponent in forced crouch. This created horrible situations where you were essentially forced to guess block low for muscle buster or step 6B as trying to challenge might make you get counter hit by 6B as it would be i10 if done immediately afterwards.

Azwel doesn't have the greatest sidestep BUT his backstep was prolly the fastest in the fastest in the game as he was able to disengage safely from most attacks. With 6B also being able to push back opponents on hit or block, keep away with Azwel was very powerful. Both of these have been nerfed since.

Azwel's ringout potential is insane, 6BA could throw out many opponents from a good distance if airborne. 8WR A+B in soul charge would propel opponents off the stage at certain distances (the distance was nerfed over time).

8WR A+B was -10 on block meaning it was SAFE against many characters in the game.

This is still in the game, but if you clash with Azwel's 5B, he is plus frame enough to just straight up CE for free. Azwel could hit someone with AA and if the opponent tries to push fast buttons, more than likely it will clash.

Sometime in 2019 August or September, Azwel's 44[B] became UNSTEPPABLE. The opponent was forced to block high if far away as stepping would lead to a lethal hit into a high damage combo which left Azwel in a good position for a 50-50.

Muscle buster gave great damage and would go off into the animation at tip range which made it quite possibly the best if not the best low in the game as it was unreactable. There were many situations that would loop into a position were Azwel could set up muscle buster/3B mixup. Ducking muscle buster and getting hit by 3B causes a lethal hit that can be followed by the second [B] (if you committed) into 66B or 6A+B then 1A (1A was a tech trap that tacked on more damage if the opponent ukemi's).

3A CH into 4A+B was one of those mixups that created a mixup situation of muscle buster/backgrab/3B LH. Though it appeared as it was a forced 50-50 situation in early 2019, I've heard from another player from my scene that the options where always gi'able but many people were unaware.

If Azwel Soul Charges, and the opponent is hit by B+K, it can be followed up with 4B+K leaving the opponent in a 50-50 situation that ends with either 6B+K or 3B LH. Both options are able to take away over half life.

Azwel's hit box on some of his moves like in Axe stance clip people from sides or even from behind as seen in the video.

Shield moves such as 1A have dummy long range and aGI's at the end. If the 1A whiffs and the opponent tries to CE, their CE actually might be straight up deflected leaving the opponent with wasted resources.

FC 1A is 0 on hit, so you can usually do it again and get a CH unless they duck. FC 1B is a mixup that can launch opponents with 6BB or 5BA.
