Things are slowly moving into place. Some of you might have noticed in my previous modular ambient video that I mentioned a lot of different synthesizer modules that I have designed myself, under the name Avalon Harmonics. We are very close, and I will soon be able to start selling them to the public. The patch in this video gives a little trailer and demo of the modules that will be initially available. To create the sound of the patch in the video, Avalon Harmonics Nucleus module (https://avalon-harmonics.com/module/N... ) produces triggers each time the Geiger Counter detects a particle. A uranium glass bead was added to its alcove to excite it further. Triggers are combined with a square LFO using an AND gate on the Avalon Harmonics LOGx module (https://avalon-harmonics.com/module/L... ) to sometimes create an additional trigger. These two triggers excite ADSRs which produce the glassy plucks. The deeper pluck is a triangle passed through the Avalon Harmonics WF (wavefolder) module (https://avalon-harmonics.com/module/WF/ ) to produce a rougher sound.

The Geiger triggers also trigger the Avalon Harmonics S&S module (https://avalon-harmonics.com/module/SnS/ ) set to internal noise source. This produces a randomized value which is then passed to the Penrose quantizer. These generated notes are then used to drive the tone of the same plucks. The pluck sound sources are mixed together using the Avalon Harmonics MiX module (https://avalon-harmonics.com/module/MiX/ ).

The drone/pad sound is produced by the Acid Rain Chainsaw, passed through After Later Audio Popple. To control it, Avalon Harmonics CVMod8 (https://avalon-harmonics.com/module/C... ) is extensively used. One of the channels controls the cutoff of the folder, while the other controls the detune of Chainsaw. Cutoff is also controlled using the Geiger generated gate signals, to produce a rising effect when there are multiple clicks. The output of this CVMod8 channel is passed to an Avalon Harmonics R&F module (https://avalon-harmonics.com/module/RnF/ ) to enforce a slower rise time. CVMod8 also takes a signal and an inverted signal from a triangle LFO to modulate the cutoff of left and right channels alternatively, creating an interesting stereo effect.

There are some more connections going around here in the patch, but it is not as relevant for the basics of how the patch works. :)
