Hailed by Jean-Luc Godard as the best movie of 1965, The Enchanted Desna is a 1964 Soviet fantasy film, directed by Yuliya Solntseva.
Based on an "autobiographical film story" written by her husband Aleksandr Dovzhenko, the film shows a magical childhood on the banks of the River Desna in Ukraine.
The film won the Special Jury Prize at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
