RAM PROMASTER VAN BUILD – Diesel Heater
Welcome to video 28 in our van build series.
Today we are going to install our diesel heater. Although we are moving into summer, and we don’t need the heat right now, we do need to know where it is going to fit within the vehicle, as it has to puncture the floor for air, exhaust, and fuel. So there are only a few places this unit can be installed in our build. Once we know where the diesel heater is going to be installed, we can move on to cupboard and fridge installation.
Our unit is a 5KW diesel air heater with an aluminum alloy case. We purchased it new last year for under $200 Canadian. I have watched dozens of installation videos and what almost everyone says is the installation manual is very poorly translated to English. I fully concur. Ill share with you the mistakes we made, because of this poor documentation, so you can avoid them. I’ll also share what we had to do to fix the problem.
