Shadow Of The Colossus was originally released for the PS2 in October 2005 by Sony Interactive Entertainments publishing and developing arm, Japan Studio, and Team Ico. To this day, Shadow Of The Colossus remains one to be one of the greatest games of all time for the Playstation platform. It was remastered and released for the PS3 platform September 2011 along with its "spiritual" sequel Ico. The game was completely redeveloped from the ground up for the PS4. While the gameplay and story go unchanged, Bluepoint Games, and Japan studio utilized modern high definition assets to completely modernize the look of the game, and take full advantage of the PS4's processing power to create a visually stunning game, bringing Shadow Of The Colossus to heights never imagined from its PS2 beginnings. The mood that is set creates immense emotion, tension, and sense of awe as you travel the gigantic open world alone in your quest to defeat the 16 Colossi.

Shadow Of The Colossus is an action adventure game that takes place in a forbidden land. You play a lone warrior, Wanderer who takes the young maiden, Mono, sacrificed by her people, to the forbidden land to be resurrected by the spirit Dormin. Wanderer learns in order to resurrect Mono, he must defeat 16 Colossi. Each Colossi unique in appearance can resemble part man, animal, or mythological beast, with their own vital points laden upon their body to be pierced by Wanderers ancient sword. Each Colossus resides in a unique environment, which must be exploited in order to help you defeat your foe. This game offers an intense story, and fun, non overwhelming puzzles with each Colossi. The game is unique in that there are no NPC's (non playable characters) you interact with. There's no combat aside from fighting the Colossi. The world, completely empty aside from your 16 Foes. The quiet landscape makes the world feel that much larger, and your character Wanderer feel that much smaller against these Colossi, and embeds a true feeling that you are alone in your quest. The game can be summed up as 16 boss fights.
