Number Classification, Why do we need sets of numbers?
The concept of closure forces us to come up with numbers beyond the Naturals. In this video we start with Naturals: although they are closed under addition and multiplication, they are not closed under subtraction, that forces us to come up with integers. Division forces us to come up with rationals, square-roots force us to come up with irrationals and complex numbers.
