The Bacalar 7 Colors Lagoon and Cenotes Excursion from the Port at Costa Maya, Mexico
https://www.shoreexcursionsgroup.com/... We took a cruise to Costa Maya, Mexico and were so excited to explore the 7 Colors Lagoon in Bacalar. We love booking through third party excursion companies because the groups are smaller and we typically get to do more because of that smaller group. We wanted to give a big thanks to Shore Excursions Group for hosting us on this excursion. When we got off the cruise ship we walked the long pier to the port at Costa Maya. All third party excursions meet outside of the port so we walked out of the port and met up with our guide. They had our name on a whiteboard and were waiting for us. We got into our van with our small group and headed to Bacalar. On our way we stopped and got delicious empanadas and fresh cut pineapple. When we arrived at the marina in Bacalar we got onto our pontoon boat and headed to our first destination, which was Cenote Negro. We were boating through shallow turquoise water when all of a sudden we reached Cenote Negro that drops 250 feet deep. Because of that drop off, it looks like a big black hole. After exploring there we headed over to Cenote Esmeralda, which is a bigger cenote. We found a shallow area away from the cenote and went swimming in the shallow water. After relaxing and taking in the views we headed over to "El Canal de las piratas" (The Pirates Channel/Canal). This is a beautiful area with shallow water and on old structure that looks like a ship. We swam around and explored this area. The water was crystal clear. After that we headed back to the Marina and then headed to a Mexican Restaurant called El Taco Loco. This meal was included with our excursion. After that we returned to the port of Costa Maya. It took us about an hour and 25 minutes to get back. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely do this again.
