Big bird bath!
Hot weather is challenging for the local wildlife as there are reduced levels of surface water, even when there has been recent rain. Putting out a bowl or two of water can be very beneficial. This big black tray is designed for use mixing building materials but it is so far unused for that purpose. In the heat, it was not only a drinking bowl but also made a valuable improvised bird bath. It could be improved if a way of supporting it off the floor could be worked out so that the birds would be less vulnerable to cats.
