The 1994 Dodge Ram 1500, was the second generation of the Ram and originally dubbed the "Louisville Slugger" by Chrysler's Advanced Packaging Studio. The 1994 Dodge Ram changed the game for full-size pickups in America. Radically different from any other truck available at the time, it introduced concepts, styling, and engineering that are still making ripples in its segment today, and in fact is still one of the most significant vehicles of the past 30 years.

Chrysler President, Bob Lutz, who’d already made waves with the Dodge Viper, wanted to transform the lackluster products offered by Chrysler. He set his sights on the Ram truck division. Appalled at the lackluster designs for the next-generation Ram, he turned to passionate engineers and stylists eager to make a difference. He gave the design team six-months to come up with something completely different, and they did.

Introduced at the North American International Auto Show on January 5, 1993, the redesigned Dodge Ram went on sale on October 1, 1993. It was an immediate success. Sales increased from 95,542 units in 1993 to 232,092 in 1994. The 1994 Dodge Ram was named "Truck of the Year" by Motor Trend. The Dodge Ram's place in history is undisputed.
