Time to study! #StayHome and study English pronunciation with me!
Do you watch a lot of American series? Like “Friends”, “How I Met Your Mother”, “Stranger Things”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Supernatural”... and the list goes on!
If you watch with English subtitles, you've probably noticed a strange difference between the spelling of words and how people speak: sometimes they pronounce the “t” or “d” with an “r” sound. But what?? 🤨 If the word is written with “t”/“d”, why do they pronounce it as if it were an “r”?
That's what you're going to learn here in our live class! This “t” (or “d”) that becomes an “r” is a special sound in American English called a “flap”.
Mastering this pronunciation is super important, both for your English comprehension and for your speaking. This is also one of the big differences between American English 🇺🇸 and British English! 🇬🇧
In this English lesson, you'll learn why this sound happens, when it happens, and HOW you can pronounce it. Be sure to watch until the end, because I'll give you several exercises to practice at home and become an expert on the subject!
After this lesson, it will be easier to speak and understand American English, believe me! What are you waiting for? Let's go!
