This is the full, sinister version of the Oroonies brilliant track 'The White Owl & The Silence' taken from their 1988 album 'The Whale & The Wind.
The Oroonies were part of the UK Free Festival Psychedelic Space Rock scene of the 1980s & early 90s along with Ozric Tentacles, The Ullulators, PSI Nukli, Magic Mushroom Band, Webcore etc, etc. These bands share a very similar traits in parts but all have their own trademark sound. The Oroonies were much darky, spookier than the rest & used Pagan & Occultist imagery on their album covers. The words to this song were from the poet 'John Cowper Powys'. Live shows were said to be spectacular & even included events in Chislehurst Caves, Kent!
