NOTE: I had posted this video a while back and then unlisted it because I ran into some issues getting midi to work properly. But I've decided to let everyone see it again and I will be posting an update about the problem I ran into. In the meantime, I present to you: Using the Steinberg CMC CH controller for Cubase with Logic Pro instead. Programming the buttons and slider to work with Logic Pro can be done on any midi controller, and I show a cool track automation trick that goes along with that.

By the way these techniques will work with most if not all midi DAW surface controllers and Midi controllers and setting them up to work with Logic Pro. If you know how to do similar tricks in other DAWs please post them in the comments.

I bought this one for $25 but online I'm seeing them for much more. Or if you see other controllers the same techniques will work.
