The sacroiliac joint (SIJ) is the joint between the sacrum and the ilium. Massage techniques for the SIJ improve its mobility.
One technique that can be used to articulate the SIJ is flexing and bending the leg. Flexing the leg inward opens the SIJ and pelvis. Flexing the leg outward compresses the SIJ and pelvis. It is important to perform these techniques carefully and with maximum comfort for the patient.
