Qocha Suntur: An Inca construction site known as the Garden of the Leaf of the Inca Huayna Capac and the Bath of the Ñustas (Inca princesses). Many locals have legends that it was a place of rest and recreation.
Tantanmarka: The mountain overlooking Urubamba is revered by the community members as the offspring of the two snow-capped peaks, Chicon and Pumahuanca, as the following story recounts:
“My grandfather used to tell me that the community of Chicon once had three Incas.
That's why they said that this hill below was called Tantanmarca and was considered a woman, and the hill over there is called Sayhua, which is the man. He said they escaped to different places, and, as he put it, their son was named Chicon after these two Incas. For this reason, they named the community Chicon, and their patron saint is also called San Isidro de Chicon.
