Hesdy Gerges gave Nieuwsuur an interview to explain his case with the Dutch Dopingauthority. After he fought Badr Hari in may of 2018, both fighters had to pee in a cup and got flagged for forbidden substances.

Immediately the ISR(an organisation who uphold the laws pertaining to professional sports) and Dopingauthority, who had a deal with GLORY, gave exclusive stories to Nieuwsuur to talk about the four fighters who pissed 'hot'.

After this all aired, GLORY decided not to work with them anymore, to the dismay of both organisations in question. Fun fact: Two fighters they caught weren't even on the same card as Gerges and Hari.

In this video, Hesdy explains he's innocent. There is no way that he would cheat. The only way the substance could have gotten into his system were the supplements, i suggest that one might be tainted.

In december GLORY hired an British lawyer to have the cases dropped, because they didn't want to risk Badr Hari getting suspended for four years(which is the maximum they can give in these cases).

In january the interviews aired and directly after GLORY, ISR and the Dopingauthority had a meeting in february. GLORY recalls in an E-mail that it was a 'productive meeting'. They agreed upon a good sanction for all four fighters and they had new rules in place, when it came to future and past infractions at GLORY.

A few days after the meeting in february, Gerges received a letter in which he would admit to using banned substances but would only receive a warning.

At this point, Hesdy Gerges refuses to sign and even says that he's not happy with how much GLORY likes to work with these organisations. He trains a few hours a day now, preparing for a match in october.

Douwe De Boer, an international dopingexpert who adviced Hari in this case, is questioning the warning that the four fighters are getting. To him, these organisations have a lot of explaining to do because he thinks that they only have their own interests in mind. He wants them to be more transparent in the future.

Gerges also said that he repeatedly asked the ISR to meet him but they send hem the warning-letter without any notice, he refuses to sign and wants the case to be over but also says that he'll take his chances in court and explain to the judge that he didn't do it.
