In 2022, South Australia's Commissioner for Children and Young People, Helen Connolly, and the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) established the first statewide Student Representative Council for South Australia (SA SRC). This video provides a recap of who made up the inaugural council, what members did, and what they most enjoyed about having a voice and being part of the SA SRC, including participating in identifying issues and actions for change across their communities that young people would like to see.
The Commissioner is now recruiting for members of the 2023 SA SRC. South Australian school students who will be in Years 10, 11 and 12 next year can apply.
Applications from young people with disability and those living in regional locations are encouraged to apply.
