Emerging Leaders Cohorts: An Affinity-Based Model for BIPOC in Environmental Education

To address the systemic marginalization of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in outdoor environmental & science education, BEETLES started the Emerging Leaders program. The program is a model for providing leaders and educators of color with skills, resources, and networks to mitigate the invisible hurdles they face in the field. In the video, participants speak to their experiences and takeaways from this equity and inclusion-focused track within BEETLES’ existing professional learning offerings.
