Martian caves are believed to have formed through a process known as "collapse pits" or differential erosion. As the wind and sand erode the surface of the hillside, they wear away the softer rock around the opening, leaving behind a harder, more resistant material that resembles a door. Curiosity Mars Rover took stunning image of Martian cave on March 23, 2023 on Solar day 3778. I created an animation showcasing the rover's cameras and their capabilities in capturing the fascinating Martian hillside caves. I highlighted the Mastcam instrument, which was used to capture the stunning images of the door-like cave openings. By visualizing the rover's view, I aimed to provide viewers with a better understanding of the technical aspects of the Curiosity rover mission and the incredible science it is capable of producing.

It is worth noting that while differential erosion can explain the formation of the openings, it is likely that other geological processes also played a role in the development of the caves. For example, the collapse of underground structures such as lava tubes could have contributed to the formation of the caves.
