Tubing down the Nottely River
Took our daughter and granddaughter tubing down the Nottely River just south of Blairsville, Georgia. Rented the tubes at Pappy's Trading Post. They took us upstream in a van, where we floated 1 1/2 miles to the takeout at the Trading Post. The USGS web site showed the Nottely water level at 1.6 feet that day. There was a lot of shallow spots that required you using the sticks to push off if hung up on a rock. Someone had stated they floated it when it was at 1.8 feet and didn't have any problems. If the USGS site shows water level less that 1.6, maybe suggest waiting for more rain.
