Of the 1,930 XB GT Falcons built, only 13 GTs were painted in Sherwood Green and this one was heavily optioned with factory GOLDE Sunroof, Air Conditioning, Globe 15" Wheels, left hand mirror and Radio/Cassette player.
Originally delivered through Anderson Ford in Perth, WA on the 13th of December 1976, this XB GT has obviously led a charmed life covering a genuine 249,363 kilometres from new and supplied with the original log books, owners manual, two sets of keys, a receipt folder, new car brochure and both the Ford and ACCHS verification letters.
Purchased by the current owner in 2016 from the long term Perth based second owner, the car was restored between 2002 and 2009 with a full repaint in 2 pack Sherwood Green Metallic with Silver stripes and highlights. The interior is mostly original except for the addition of cloth inserts in the original Chamois vinyl seats. The dash, steering wheel, all gauges, door cards and hood lining are original.
At the same time the matching numbers 351 2V Cleveland was rebuilt with a solid cam, Holley 750DP carby, Pacemaker extractors, Holley Rocker covers, Edelbrock Performer manifold, high volume sump, mild head porting and electronic ignition. The engine was balanced and produces an estimated 400HP at the flywheel.
The car has been fitted with a 4 speed Top Loader gearbox, then through to the factory 9". The XB is fitted with ventilated disc brakes with Bendix Gold pads. The car has been driven approximately 2,000 Kilometres since the restoration was completed.
