Whispers of Startan (April fools edition)
Happy April Fools day 2023 everyone!
I have made hundreds of maps for the Doom games over the years but it is Whispers of Satan MAP06 that has probably been my most spoken about map ever. It is infamous for it's symmetry and has an almost perfectly mirror image layout along with absolutely linearity and no interconnectivity. When I created this map I was so focussed on looks and did not care one bit about the layout.
Here it is retextured in STARTAN2 and a playthrough with cheats on. I am gradually working on a retextured edition of WOS (which will be named Whispers of Startan real edition) where the entire megawad is retextured to STARTAN2 and the music will be changed to bluegrass. But that can wait another day.
A troll author released a map named WHISPERS OF STARTAN (butcrax.wad) shortly after the release of WOS to troll my megawad with it's copy and paste and symmetrical theme. https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/lev...
