From the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian propaganda has built a whole system of myths around the topic of casualties. First, "no casualties," then understated figures. Then the problem was simply hushed up. And today, the authorities are trying to portray hundreds of thousands of dead as the normal cost of war.
