" Shala the Lust-slaker is the named Derkato thrall you are looking for, and she is a rare Purge spawn. "

❗May 20, 2018. This information may become outdated soon.

TL;DR: For named thrall farming, set purge level to 2, trigger values very low, have a base in the territory of the original exiled lands. Not the north, the swamp jungle or the volcano. And be present at the desired base when the purge will trigger. With at least a 4-slotted Wheel of Pain.

Why you really want a purge: They’re currently the only way of getting Derkheto (arch)priests (from ANY faction) and the only way of getting blacksmiths who can make legendary weapon repair kits.

Purge level: there’s 6 purge levels which define difficulty. 1 is pretty much guaranteed to spawn easy human enemies with the purge. 6 is almost guaranteed to be rather difficult types of animals and other creatures. Levels 3 and 4 are pretty much 50/50 in terms of what type of purge you’ll get. Surprisingly, it seems like level 2 is the ideal level currently for ‘farming’ named thralls, since it can spawn in 2 or 3 named NPC’s in a single purge, combined with a very high chance of a humanoid purge.

Which of my bases will be attacked? In singleplayer: The one your character is present at in game. This is the only factor that matters. Be sure to be present on your base’s “premises” since it will normally only trigger if you are either in or very close to your base. In multiplayer, the location appears to be completely random and purges are very bugged to the point of not actually working at all for the most part.

I need a specific type of thrall. Which base should I trigger the purge at? Theoretically, it doesn’t matter (in practice it does, as you'll see further down): every faction has in the database exactly 2 named thralls of each type of crafter (except dancer) and there is no exception to it. 2 alchemists, 2 cooks, 2 blacksmiths, 2 armorers, 2 taskmasters, 2 tanners, 2 smelters, but also 2 archpriests of each religion. So 2 archpriests of mitra, set, yog, ymir…. And derkheto. There are also 4 named archers and 4 named fighters per faction. Unfortunately, named archers and fighters appear to spawn more frequently than named crafter thralls. Every area has the same chance for humanoid purges versus creature purges.

Currently, named purge Armorers do not make any race-specific flawless armors at all or any special tools. They can, however, make Heavy Leather helmet, Heavy Plated Helmet and Horned Heavy Plated Helmet, which named Armorers that are captured in enemy camps can’t make.
Purge blacksmiths on the other hand make the very desired Legendary Weapon Repair Kit, which is the only way that legendary weapons can be repaired in the game.
Purge named cooks can make Egg Surprise, Cooked Oyster and Bone Broth, whereas named cooks you capture in regular NPC camps cannot.
Named alchemists from the purge are the only ones capable of making black or white dye.
Archer and Fighter hitpoints depend greatly on which faction they’re from. In case of purge NPC’s, fighter and archer hitpoints are the same, compared to landscape mobs where archers have more hitpoints. Exiles have 500 health, Darfari have 800, Black Hand Pirates have 1100, Desert Dogs have 1300, Relic Hunters 1700, Nordheimers 1800, Forgotten Clan 2700.
For now, avoid swamp, nordheimer, cimmerian and volcano purges. Next part explains why.
Factions There appears to be an issue with the factions of the swamp/jungle and volcano areas as the Lemurian and Votaries of Skelos named purge NPC’s appear to be broken in the database and cannot actually spawn in the game. Moreover, the Nordheimer purges appear to not spawn any named NPC’s either. Forgotten Clan purges appear to only spawn in Dalinsia Snowhunter (fighter) over and over again as the only named NPC. So these factions are currently broken. For now, trigger your purges with the Relic Hunters, Darfari, Exiles, Desert Dogs and the Black Hand Pirates (not swamp!). An anomaly with the Desert Dog faction is that they also spawn in low tier carpenters. Sometimes, a named NPC that you recognize from enemy camps may spawn with the purge. This is usually a frequently spawning NPC such as Du’neman The Dragoon (Desert Dogs) or Dalinsia Snowhunter (Forgotten Tribe). This should be limited to fighter and archer type NPC’s. Named crafting NPC’s from enemy NPC camps should not spawn with a purge.
