scrillow - Fracktail [Super Paper Mario Dub]
Here's something a bit random, a dub of Fracktail's scenes in Super Paper Mario! I love his design and character, albeit his growth is close to barren.
I was really experimenting with pitch modulation and vocal de- and re-construction here. Although the voice is simple, I liked the result at first, but it's been a few weeks and I don't like it anymore! But have it anyway! At least the filter's pretty cool.
I went through various types of voices for Fracktail. It was very much trial and error trying to land an even decent one, not just because they weren't fitting the character, but because the pitch modulation would ruin the voice. Although this isn't exactly what I hear in my head when I see Fracktail, it's definitely better than the test runs I did previous to this take. I think this voice has a lot of good moments, but may not be the best overall.
I'm hoping to dub other scenes of SPM as well! I hope I can deliver those to you all soon!
