Arnold's Club 1976
This is a live recording from Arnold's Club in Oklahoma in 1976. From the description, "During the late 60's Night Clubs began to emerge just south of Colbert, OK and near The Red River separating OK & TX. These clubs became a haven for 1000's of late night party people (River Rats). There were drunks, fights, and a few killings during this crazy time, but overall the patrons were fun-loving folk from near & far just out for a good time. Bob's Club/Lobo's/Red Rooster & of course Arnold's Club were the most successful. Many country stars appeared occasionally in these dirty dim neon palaces. Conway Twitty, Jerry Lee Lewis, Reba McEntire & Loretta Lynn were among the legends stopping by for a quick weeknight moneymaker. The regular bands usually started at 9 pm with 15 minutes breaks every hour & performed till 2am or later. On stage they played standard country & rock tunes while sippin'/ whiskey, drinking beer & smoking cigarettes one after another! It was a wonderful time for all but, as with all nightclubs, the era was limited. Most had closed down by 1980 and eventually Arnold's Club, owned by Arnold Medler did the same in the early 80's.

To me, it's a tribute to my late uncle Leon who played bass and banjo for live music in 1976 at Arnold's Club in Oklahoma. The album artwork is included, as well as his funeral program. Rest in peace uncle Leon.
