I had a lot more to say but I didn't want to make the video 40 minutes long lol.
I yearn for Video Games to go back to the way they were about a decade ago but sadly that looks like it wont happen anytime soon :(
This is why I prefer games from the past: No battle passes every month. No $70 unfinished launches. No always-online single-player games. Just hopping on after school or work, loading into a lobby, and actually having fun.
Console and PC gaming used to be about complete games at launch, unlocks you earned by playing, and communities that felt real — not optimized for engagement metrics. You bought a game once and it was yours. No FOMO. No storefronts shoved in your face. No “we’ll fix it later” patches.
Multiplayer felt competitive but casual.
Single-player games were polished, replayable, and made with passion instead of deadlines. Developers took risks. Studios cared about identity. Players weren’t treated like walking wallets. Microtransactions felt like an after thought whereas today they shove them down your throats like its the most important thing for your survival.
