Drink and Drive in the Czech Republic
Ahoj my beautiful friends! Today I want to talk to you about a really cool service offered across Czech Republic and that is the Drink & Drive Service.
First you should know that - when it comes to driving and drinking alcohol - there´s a zero tolerance policy in the Czech Republic. Therefore if you are a driver and you do like to go out once in a while and have a glass or two, the drink and drive service it's going to be your salvation.
A friend of mine recommended it to me about 3 years ago, but until about a year ago I was kind of reluctant in using it mainly because of the language barer. Last year, while I was in the friend's restaurant - when leaving, he decided to call the drink and drive for me and since than I can say that whenever I go out and want to have a drink or two I always take back the drink and drive. So let me tell you a bit about how it works: you call them, just like you would call a regular taxi and you give them the address from where you want to be picked up and also the address where you want to go. They will also ask you over the phone what car you own, I guess , so that they can know what driver to send, and afterwards you just stay still and enjoy the rest of the evening and you wait for them to arrive. Especially during the weekend it might take up to one hour - since they have a limited number of cars and the requests are floating in, but once they arrive, they will call you to come out. You can expect a car with 2 drivers. One of them will drive your car and the other one will drive the car they've came with. Once you arrive home safely and your car is parked you will pay. Now you would expect in the end to pay quite a spicy amount of money - but the reality is that the amount you will pay will be up to 10-15% more than a normal taxi would charge you, which I think it's pretty awesome. I've visited many countries - and I've never heard or seen anywhere a similar service, so I am curious : if you guys know about the existence of a similar service in any other country - let me know in the description box down below.
