Making a Discord bot isn't hard! In this video tutorial I'll be showing you how to make your own in under 10 minutes. To do this we will be using a Javascript library called DiscordJS, which handles almost all of the hard work for us, allowing us to get a Discord bot running in just a few lines of code

In future videos I will show you how to make more advanced Discord Bots for you to copy or at least give you some inspiration for coding your own discord bot.

The main point of this discord bot tutorial is to show you the basics and also give you some ideas for your own bots or some stuff to build off of as a template. Some types of discord bots we will make in future videos are
-word filter bot
Joke bot via API calls
-capslock bot
-auto moderator bot
-music playing bot
and any popular suggestions from viewers in the comments

There are a number of reasons you might want to add discord bots to your server. The first is to simplify common tasks, this can be things like moderation or handling embeds from certain websites. The other could be to make things more fun. By making a custom discord bot like you will in this tutorial series you will be able to make just about any kind of bot you can think of.

The potential benefit of this is that it can help grow your Discord server and overall community by providing a unique experience that they may not be able to get elsewhere. If you make a discord bot that people really like there's even potential to monetize it in the future.

For this Discord bot tutorial we will use Javascript, although there are other tutorials out there that use other languages like Python. You will need at least a beginners level of Javascript programming skills to fully understand what's going on with the code, though you can still make things work by following along with the video even if you don't understand how it works.
