Led Tachometer DIY with LM3914 and LM2917
► LED tachometer for gasoline 4-stroke.
This circuit, through the LED 21, is able to read the speed of any internal combustion engine 4-stroke gasoline.
The circuit is divided into two parts: The first part (LM2917) converts the frequency generated by the coil into a DC voltage, while the second acts as a voltmeter reading the value of the voltage and controlling the LM3914, which drive the LEDs, by adjusting the ignition. The first green LED is always lit and acts as a full scale, in addition indicates that the circuit is switched on.
In this video, the reading is inaccurate because I have not connected the tachometer to the coil, but I just backed the signal cable on it.

Questo circuito, tramite i 20 LED, è in grado di leggere i giri di qualsiasi motore a scoppio a 4 tempi a benzina. Il led rosso grande è collegato in parallelo al secondo led giallo e serve per indicare quando è ora di cambiare marcia.
Il circuito si divide in due parti: La prima parte (LM2917) converte la frequenza generata dalla bobina in una tensione continua, mentre la seconda funge da voltmetro leggendo il valore della tensione e comandando gli LM3914 che pilotano i LED, regolandone l'accensione. Il primo led verde è sempre acceso e funge da fondoscala,in oltre indica che il circuito è acceso.
In questo video la lettura è poco precisa perché non ho collegato il contagiri alla bobina, ma ho solo appoggiato il cavo del segnale sopra di essa.
