lyrics
INTRO
VERSE
Forty days and nights evading capture
To the mountain where the Lord gave ten com-mands “What are you doing here?” God asked Elijah
He said, Jezebel is after me and won't rest until I'm dead
CHORUS
Whoa, up on the mountain
Whoa, up on the mountain of the Lord
VERSE 2
God said, "Stand before me on the mountain And I will pass in front of you to-day"
Then came a wind, an earthquake, and a fire But the Lord was not in them in any way
CHORUS
Whoa, up on the mountain
Whoa, up on the mountain of the Lord
BRIDGE
Af-ter the wind, an earthquake, and a fire,
There came a gentle whisper like a breath
The utter silence made Elijah tremble
He covered up his face because he knew that you were there. You're not in the wind, the earthquake, or the fire
But in the silence, we will find you there Unfolding like a manuscript before us Waiting for the mystery you will share
INTERLUDE
CHORUS
Whoa, up on the mountain
Whoa, up on the mountain of the Lord Whoa, up on the mountain
Whoa, up on the mountian of the Lord
END
You're not in the wind, the earthquake, or the fire You're not in the wind, the earthquake, or the fire
Whoa
