Day 46 of 75: Exploring Iconic Stops on the Oregon Coast

We are so excited to explore the Oregon coast!! We head out of Nehalem Bay State Park and drive 24 minutes north on 101 to Ecola State Park to check out Indian Beach and Cannon Beach. It’s actually where Goonies, Kindergarten Cop, and Twilight were filmed.
We go through a curvy, narrow drive through a lush rain forest to get to Indian Beach - beautiful views!!
Boy, is God watching over us ( especially me!) today........ as we left the campground to go explore, we stop at the trash to throw it away before we head out.
The dumpster is so horribly stinky that I had to hold my breath and quickly run back to the truck to sanitize my hands and get out of there as it still smells horrible even when I was in the truck. In my disgusted hurry, I forgot to shut the tailgate after I throw the trash away!
We drive down curvy, crazy rain forest roads, whip the truck around to turn it around, and are really not careful one little bit as we drive the curvy coast. When we arrive at the parking lot of Ecola State Park, I noticed the tailgate was open! Our generator was sitting right in the back, our grill was sitting in the back, and all of our other camping supplies. God certainly had some of His angels holding on tight to the back of the truck keeping everything in as not even Jason‘s work gloves blew out of the back of the truck!
Praise God that He was paying attention when I wasn’t! Thanking Him for His continued protection!!! 🙏🏼💕
After steaks on the grill back at the campsite, we walk to Nehalem Bay where we were hoping to catch horses riding on the beach! No such luck this time, but we did get to walk by all the horses that were camping in the horse camp. Alexis thinks she wants a horse now. 😳🐴
