Luis Lorenzana presents new watercolor and oil paintings for 'Heads', his solo exhibition for Silverlens Manila.
A self-taught artist whose oeuvre mainly consisted of classically rendered figurative paintings for most of his career, Lorenzana has spent the past seven years attempting to break down art-making processes. Though Lorenzana has moved away from classical portraiture, he still paints portraits—this time focusing on colors, textures, patterns, and repetition, rather than figures, resulting in work that is more serial and abstract.
'Heads' runs through 3 December at Silverlens Manila, alongside 'Clunker' by Pow Martinez.
