In this video, Keka Enriquez (b. 1962, Manila, Philippines; lives and works in San Francisco, California) is joined by Silverlens New York director Katey Acquaro to discuss the artist’s highly anticipated return to the art world after a 20-year hiatus in her ongoing solo exhibition ‘Odds and Ends’.
Enriquez narrates her artistic journey, from her past works in which she experimented with materials like lard and plaster casts, to her current paintings showcasing an evolved style that remains tactile, yet has a newfound sense of looseness and freedom.
‘Keka Enriquez: Odds and Ends’ is on view until 15 June 2024 at Silverlens New York.
