GoPro mounted on lathe chuck 02: Cutting Threads
First test thread with the GoPro mounted on the chuck lathe at Laney College in Oakland, CA. Lathe was set at 90 rpm, cutting a 8 tpi thread with HSS.
0:04 Cut a small relief at the far end of the bar
1:26 Stop lathe; switch to threading tool
2:00 around here I start cutting a 8 tpi thread, very hard to tell
3:45 start a second cut without stopping lathe. Very little difference
4:00 oil is dripped on to cool it, the oil on the spinning bar is an interesting effect
