Between 25 June and 1 November in the year of 1648, General Hans Christoff von Köningsmarck led a Swedish army to conquer the city of Prague in modern Czech Republic. The enemy entrenched themselves at Karl's Bridge and resisted for 129 days before the Swedes left due to a peace treaty. To make sure that the siege would not be a complete failure, the Swedes looted everything of value they could find in the occupied areas of Prague. Many of these treasures remain today at Drottningholm Castle in Sweden.
