Tenshin Nasukawa "A Study in Duality" Part Two - MMA Skill
Tenshin Nasukawa ( 那須川天心 , Nasukawa Tenshin, born in Matsudo, Chiba, Japan) who's been justifiably given the moniker "Striking Genius / Prodigy" by fellow analysts Lawrence Kenshin and MindSmash, is a recently 19 year old Kyokushin Karate stylist who's competed in Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and recently in MMA for Rizin.
He is anomalous in that he is a knockout artist in every sense of the moniker, yet only 5'4" and 125 pounds. Normally finishers tend to not still be in their teens fighting veterans, nor are they as diminutive in stature. This isn't some odd coincidence, merely a matter of physics as someone who fights 100 lbs. heavier, would naturally carry with that a ton more power but surprisingly not as drastic a differential in head size, and bone structure. Nasukawa does his damage via incredible accuracy and ring acumen rarely seen in a "prospect", and the speed and vigor of a young lion.
The future looks bright for the phenom, and the aim here is to cover some of his MMA bouts (he is now 4-0 with 2 KO's, 1 Submission and 1 UD).
In this, part 2 (be sure to check out part one here: • Tenshin Nasukawa Prodigal Son || A Brendan... ), I'd like to cover his strengths in an MMA context, but I've covered a good portion of his striking brilliance already. In his mixed martial arts fights I see some potential, but also potential things to work on going forward. After the success of the first video, this was a no-brainer. Enjoy, cheers.
