🐩 The poodle is an elegant and cute dog, famous for its unusual curly hair. Representatives of this breed have a lively character, a cheerful disposition and are very smart. They are considered one of the smartest dog breeds.

🐩 It is believed that poodles were bred in France, but some call their homeland Germany, since the word “poodle” is of German origin. It should be noted, however, that in France this breed of dog is called caniche from cane — duck, which indicates the origin of the poodle from hunting, French water dogs. The life expectancy of poodles is from 10 to 18 years.
🐩 In Europe, the poodle has been known since the 15th-16th centuries, for a long time it remained a dog that could only belong to royalty. This is why it got its name, the large (royal) poodle, and not at all for its size, as some believe.
🐩 According to the modern international FCI standard, there are four types of poodles: large (45-60 cm at the withers), small (35-45 cm at the withers), dwarf (28-35 cm at the withers) and toy (24-28 cm at the withers). Therefore, poodle fans can choose a dog based on the size of their home and personal preferences.
