With the King’s arrival to the temple, the Devdasis prepare a special style of dance called Lavni, for him and his guests. His presence is special because he is both an honourable member of the royal family, but also because the kings helped finance the temples. King Hemraj is especially smitten by Padmavathi, as she performs with the other devdasis.
