Split Plot Design
The design of layout has nested blocking structure.
In a block design, the experimental units are nested within the blocks, and a separate random assignment of units to treatments is made within each block.
In a split plot design, experimental units are called split-plots (sub-plots), and are nested within whole plots (main-plots).
