Immunology Explained Simply
Today we're talking about the inflammasome. We'll briefly explain the difference between the sterile interior of our body and the non-sterile exterior, and then discuss the activation of receptors on the surface of epithelial cells, which triggers the production of the precursor to IL-1β. Next, we'll look at the activation of the inflammasome, which leads to the activation of caspase 1. At the end of the video, we'll describe the different types of inflammasomes and how they are activated.
We hope you enjoy the video, stay curious, and stay healthy! ;-)
