In this video, I show you an anatomic variant in the knee, which can lead to surgical complications. It is called an aberrant anterior tibial artery (AATA), where the anterior tibial artery has a high origin and runs between the popliteus muscle and the tibial head, where it is at risk in the so-called "danger zone". I will show you an easy trick to never miss this variant again. Surgical complications can be compartment syndrome, muscle necrosis, or even below-the-knee amputation.
