Like most Excel users, I'm sure you use the VLOOKUP function very often in your work. This function provides excellent results when there is only one search criterion (called the "lookup_value" in the VLOOKUP function arguments).
Example: I have an employee's ID number in a table and I want to retrieve their date of birth from another table using the "ID number" criterion. Now let's take it a step further. Suppose I'm working on a project involving a group of companies. Two employees, each belonging to a different company within the group, might have the same employee ID number. So, to retrieve their birthdates from my second table, I can't simply perform a VLOOKUP with just one criterion. I need to combine at least two criteria (the employee ID number and the name of the company they work for). As you know, the VLOOKUP function only accepts one criterion in its arguments. Therefore, we need to be resourceful to solve our problem. And that's what I'll show you in the video.
