Blue Moon
In 1961, "Blue Moon" became an international number-one hit for the doo-wop group, The Marcels. Written by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart in 1934, the song has transformed over the years (especially in the 1950s) to become a popular standard ballad. It has been recorded by such notables as Mel Torme, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, Elvis Presley, The Supremes, and Bob Dylan. Looking for a video that helped tell the song's story, I came across, "Silent Love" (2014), a romantic short written and directed by Giacomo Zanni. The story is about a young man who falls in love with a passenger he sees every day on a train. To ask her out, he draws a clever diary.
