Hailing from Colombia and residing in Copenhagen, Denmark - Misticeti draws inspiration from both his South American background and experiences in European dance music scenes that now form part of his day to day life.
These influences have been integral during the creation of this forthcoming debut EP, ‘Signals’ - a project that has proved impossible to resist for Emancipator’s Loci Records. His unique blend of Latin American influenced electronica perfectly fits within the Loci roster - one that comes paired with a well-established reputation for high quality downtempo and world music.
The name ‘Misticeti’ is Latin for Humpback Whale - a species known for being expressive, creative, and playful free spirits. He seeks to encapsulate these traits in his work, as well as drawing inspiration from nature and its beautiful wildlife. Indeed even his EP title ‘Signals’ was inspired by his love of electronic music and his desire to communicate through it - much like how a whale uses sonar.
‘Mirage’ is the first cut to be released from the project. A combination of real analogue gear, beautiful vintage samples, and a vast array of Latin percussion can be found within the track’s layers. It's a deep, warm, and well-balanced mix ripe for dancing. The variety of instrumentation keeps the track interesting while its poignant hooks and house grooves will keep you moving.
A brilliant debut project from a true creative mind with a raw sound. Full of soul, life, and energy, Misticeti is all about connecting with the listener on a deeper level.
